Research will take the currently selected topic/text and send it to a search engine such as Google or Wikipedia. When you find a useful piece of information (text, link, image) then you can select it and copy it to the clipboard or insert it directly into the current topic.

When selecting text, the option to Make Topic(s) and Add to Note will appear.

NB:Unfortunately this doesn't currently work for PDF/Office type documents.

The default search engine (and list of available engines) can be configured in the iThoughts section of the iPad Settings App.

Upto 3 custom search engines may be configured in the iPad Settings App. The syntax for a new engine is as follows:

      Display Name,URL

The URL should include the placeholder text <SEARCH_TERM> which iThoughts will replace with the actual text. An example entry for Wikipedia is as follows:

      Wikpedia,http://www.wikipedia.org/ w/index.php?search=<SEARCH_TERM>
