NGC 6067 and NGC 6087 are open star clusters in Norma. NGC 6067 was mistakenly listed as Caldwell 89 in Patrick Moore's list, but the description is really that of NGC 6087.
NGC 6067 has a combined magnitude of 5.6, and an apparent diameter of 13 arc minutes. It is a rich galactic cluster, containing at least 316 stars within an area of 95 square arc minutes. The cluster lies at a distance of about 2100 parsecs, or 6800 light years, and has a radial velocity of 43 km/sec toward the Sun. NGC 6067 is similar to the Pleiades in age and intermediate between M 11, and h and χ Persei. NGC 6067 is about 15 to 20 times richer than the Pleiades.
NGC 6087 has an apparent magnitude of 5.4, and an apparent diameter of 12 arc minutes. It lies 890 parsecs or 2100 light years away, and is about 80 million years old. It is comprised of forty or so stars, ranging from magnitude 7 to 10. The group is two degrees east of ι1 Nor; it includes the Cepheid variable S Normae.
