Milk Dipper

The Milk Dipper is a group of five 3rd magnitude stars in the constellation Sagittarius. This group is part of the larger and more familiar asterism called the Teapot. The Milk Dipper is inverted in the sky, with the open bowl directed southward. Look for the Milk Dipper during Northern hemisphere summer months. From the Southern hemisphere, it is best seen during the winter, and appears in its "upright" orientation, scooping stars out of the Milky Way.
