NGC 6352

NGC 6352 is a globular cluster in Ara. It was discovered by James Dunlop on May 14, 1826, and catalogued as Dunlop 417. John Herschel apparently missed this cluster; it doesn't appear in either his 1847 catalog or in the 1864 General Catalog. It was found again by Barnard, and got its place in Dreyer's New General Catalog.

NGC has an apparent magnitude of 8.2 and an apparent size of 7.1 arc minutes. It is located 18,600 from the Sun, and 10,800 light years from the galactic center. Recent studies show that NGC 6352 is metal-rich, and appears to be about 2 billion years younger than the bulk of the Milky Way's globular clusters.
