NGC 6025

NGC 6025 is an open cluster located 2,700 light years away in the constellation Triangulum Australe, near the boundary with the constellation Norma. It was discovered by Abbe Lacaille in 1751 or 1752 during his South African tour.

This is a good object for binoculars. It is about 12 arc minutes across, and has a total visual magnitude of 5.1. About 30 stars of 7th magnitude and fainter belong to this group. It has a weak concentration toward the center, has a large brightness range, and is rich, with more than 100 stars.
