Nokia 9500 & Variants
When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts. Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.
Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T5 screwdriver.
Step 1. Protect the
exterior screen with a film or similar.
Step 2. Remove the battery

upper frame and start by removing the friction hinge as shown below.
Step 24. Use your shim to
unlock the top cover.
Step 25. Remove the top
cover.

mat taking note of its positioning.
Step 27. Use a dental pick
or small flat bladed screwdriver to lever the clips holding the shield in place.
Step 28. Here you can see
a (slightly) clearer picture of the step above.
Step 29. With the clips
released, remove the shield.
Step 30. Protect the LCD
screen with a film or similar.
Step 31. Use tweezers to
remove the earpiece.
Step 32. Use your shim or
a flat bladed screwdriver to release the screen connector.
Step 33. Lift out and
remove the screen.
Step 34. Use your shim to
lever open the locking catch.
Step 35. Now lift out the
locking catch.
Step 36. Use your shim to
release the connector.
Step 37. Use a flat bladed
screwdriver to open the clip on the left side of the phone.
Step 38. Repeat the same
procedure on the right hand side.
Step 39. Lift out the user
interface.
Step 40. The PDA screen is
attached to the frame using double sided tape and can be released using slow
steady pressure as shown below. Take care not to break the screen.
Step 41. Reassembly is a simple reversal of the above steps taking extra time to ensure that everything works as it should, and that you have caused no damage whilst inside the handset.
